    Friday, 20 September 2002

    Participants arrive on various flights to Guilin (19:20 arrival from Hong Kong on Dragon Air)

  • Bus to town
  • Check in to Guilin Yinli Overseas Chinese Hotel (for those arriving early, the hotel has a nice outdoor pool)

    After check in, competitors should:
  • collect racer bibs, bike and bag tags
  • assemble their bikes and place them on delivery trucks
  • help themselves to buffet dinner

    Saturday, 21 September 2002

  • 06:30-07:45 Buffet breakfast
  • 08:00 Competitor buses depart for the race start (Competitors check out from hotel and bring bags on bus)
  • 09:15 Pre-race Ceremony
  • 09:30 Starting gun

  • 14:30
    Teams begin arriving at the day 1 finish line. Collect personal bags, shower, change and enjoy some local cuisine Note that this is a great hangout spot for watching other competitors, swimming, etc. Tune bikes as needed and place them on the truck for the next day Buses depart for Yangshuo as they fill up.

  • 17:00
    Teams begin to check in to Yangshuo New Century Hotel. Free time to explore Yangshuo



  • 20:00 Competitor's Briefing


    Sunday, 22 September 2002

  • 06:30-07:45 Buffet breakfast
  • 08:00 Buses depart for the starting line (Competitors check out from hotel and bring bags on bus)
  • 08:30 Beginning of staggered start for race teams based upon previous day's time
  • 11:30 First team finishes the course (racer's bags and showers available)
  • 12:30 Lunch available. Free time to pack bikes and explore an interesting old village.
  • 16:00 Trucks with bikes depart for the airport.
  • 16:00 Awards ceremony
  • 16:30 Buses depart for airport based upon departure schedules of competitor flights.
